Message from Leesburg Regional Medical Center’s Auxiliary President

The purpose of our Auxiliary is to promote and advance the welfare of Leesburg Regional Medical Center, which is a part of Central Florida Health Alliance.

We strive to bring comfort and hope to all who are in distress of mind and body. We use the privilege given us to help the ill, the aged and the very young with generosity and with gentleness.

We have over 230 volunteers who serve in many departments. Some are front desk, emergency, waiting rooms, outside transport, patient care areas and some office areas. We also have our gift shop and thrift shop.

Our monies are raised in the two shops and our many fundraisers. This past year, we were able to donate $75,000 to the Foundation. This money went to help fund the Hypothermia Cooling System for the Heart Institute along with the Tandem Heart. We also give several scholarships to students going into the medical field.

The shortest distance between two people is a smile! We try to always keep this in mind. We are the first people who are seen when patients and visitors come into the hospital. We greet all with our smiles. I can only hope that you would like to share your smile and become a member of our Auxiliary. We can be reached at 323-5060, in our Auxiliary office. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.

Jean Tallarico, President
Leesburg Regional Medical Center Auxiliary
