A leader in new technologies for minimally invasive heart valve procedures, the Heart Institute at Leesburg Regional was one of the first in the United States to pioneer the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) transfemoral and transapical for those heart patients who have no other alternatives.

It's important to note that Leesburg Regional Heart Institute exceeds the ACC/AHA national recommendation of "door to balloon" time of 90 minutes. Door-to-balloon time measures how long it takes a patient who arrives in the Emergency Department to receive a catheter in the hospital's cardiac catheterization lab. A short door-to-balloon time reduces a patient's chances of cardiac muscle damage and the extent of that damage.
