Moffitt Cancer Center and Central Florida Health Alliance

A Partnership to Provide World-Class Cancer Care Close to Home

Moffitt Cancer Center and Central Florida Health Alliance have partnered to deliver state-of-the-art cancer care in a new facility being built on the campus of The Villages Regional Hospital. Moffitt Cancer Center is an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only one in Florida – a designation that recognizes excellence in research and contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control. Moffitt is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a prestigious alliance of the country’s leading cancer centers and is listed in the US News & World Report as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” for cancer care.

Under this new partnership, Moffitt will work with our team at The Villages Regional Hospital to improve the cancer treatment outcomes and availability of advanced treatment options with a focus on quality and strengthening research capabilities within the healthcare community.

Plans also include working together to improve cancer prevention and the health and wellness of cancer patients in the community. A team of multi-disciplinary Moffitt faculty members consult with the hospitals’ physicians and surgeons on patient cases, educational seminars, and professional exchanges.

Clinical Research

Our partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center enables patients to have access through their physicians to clinical trials offered through Moffitt. Clinical trials contribute to science and provide better care for patients. Through our affiliation with Moffitt Cancer Center, Central Florida Health Alliance has immediate access to new treatments and medications.

Overall, our relationship with Moffitt Cancer Center provides our patients with the opportunity to access the resources and research of this world-renowned cancer care center while remaining under the care of a local physician and staying close to home.
