Leesburg Regional Acute Rehabilitation Hospital
At Leesburg Regional Medical Center, the focus of rehabilitation is to assist patients to reach their highest functional level. Leesburg Regional Acute Rehabilitation hospital, located on the third floor of the North Campus, offers a comprehensive, 24-hour inpatient rehabilitation program in a 22-bed dedicated unit for patients who demonstrate impairment in activities of daily living (ADL) skills, mobility, self-care, communication, together with medical complexity. The facility and programs are specially designed to meet the needs of our patients and their families.
Programs are individually tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of our patients with conditions such as stroke, neurological conditions, brain injury, major multiple trauma, spinal cord injury, amputations, orthopaedic conditions, total joint replacement, arthritis, or other debilitation.
A Team Approach
Our team of professionals specializing in rehabilitation services work together to provide patients and their families with the support needed to meet their medical, physical, and emotional needs. Our goal is to help each patient achieve the highest degree of independence possible. Through essential education and training, our professionals are licensed and/or certified in their respective areas of expertise.
Patient Care Plan
Patients, families and/or caregivers are an integral part of our team. We work closely to meet individual goals, as well as those identified by the patient’s physician and family. Each patient is required to participate in a minimum of three hours of therapy, which may include physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy according to the care plan.
Because support and encouragement is an integral part of the healing process, family involvement during therapies is encouraged. Therapy sessions address each patient’s specific deficits and focuses on their goal of improving functional mobility and activities of daily living.
One Step Ahead
Leesburg Regional Acute Rehabilitation Hospital is the only inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital in Lake and Sumter counties and is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The hospital has been offering rehabilitative care to our surrounding communities for 20 years and is licensed by the Florida Department of Health Services.
