Surgical Video of an Aortic Valve Replacement and Mitral Valve Repair

It is very common to have more than one valve problem at the same time.

Most of the time there is a primary valve problem that results in a secondary valve problem as pressure builds up behind the primary valve causing trouble.

Frequently seen combinations are aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation, or mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation.

Depending on the severity of the secondary valve problem, it may or may not require reconstruction if the primary valve problem is fixed.
