About the Alliance Heart Institute

Goundbreaking Procedures and Technology

Alliance Heart Institute is an industry leader with its use of new procedures and technology.

Minimally Invasive Heart Valve Surgery

Minimally invasive heart valve repair and replacement surgery is a breakthrough approach to treating heart valve disease. This procedure can be less painful and offer quicker recovery since sophisticated instruments are used through a smaller incision. Alliance Heart is one of the few facilities in Florida now performing minimally invasive heart valve repair and replacement.

Pathway Technology

Alliance Heart Institute was the first in Florida to use the Jetstream Pathway PV Atherectomy System, an FDA-approved device that clears away and removes potentially deadly plaque in the leg arteries bringing patients immediate relief with fewer complications.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)

There is now a new development in the treatment of aortic stenosis.  Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) is a new way to implant an artificial aortic valve inside the patient’s own aortic valve without having to go on the heart-lung machine or cardiopulmonary bypass.

3D Echo

The advent of this technology at the Institute allows our cardiologists to obtain live 3D images of the heart instantly. It brings the cardiologist real-time, 3D renderings which help better visualize and diagnose complex conditions and reduces the number of examinations for patients.

Tandem Heart

Alliance Heart Institute is the first in the area to use the Tandem Heart, a device that assists the patient's heart pumping function which allows our surgeons and cardiologists to treat patients with poor heart function who are unable to undergo high-risk procedures such as angioplasty or open heart surgery.

Life-Saving Service

Heart attack patients are now treated even faster with a process that utilizes paramedics in the field. The EMT's fax EKG reports directly from the ambulance to emergency room doctors who can make decisions quickly. Once the patient reaches the hospital, our interventional cardiologists are able to open blocked arteries in the cath lab quickly, normally within a 90-minute window.
