When you see or hear of efforts to end the North Lake County Hospital District assessment that helps fund Leesburg Regional Medical Center, there’s a question we hope you’ll ask yourself: what does this mean to me? This funding helps ensure the hospital services you want, need and expect are in place and ready for you every minute of every day.
Ending Hospital District funding would mean homeowners in North Lake County would no longer have an assessment totaling, on average, about $10 per month, per household (for a $175,000 home), which is about the same cost as the tax on a cell phone bill. Ending Hospital District funding would come at a great cost to your local hospital.
